Kingston never gained a lead over the Wizards, trailing through all periods due to point guard Justin Robinson out of the Tigers lineup early in the 1st quarter as a result of a rolled ankle injury.
The Wizards took advantage of scorer and playmaker Robinson’s absence. Robinson would not return for play until the second half, but was never quite up to the level of play he usually contributes. He was scoreless from the field, hitting two free-throws in the forth quarter.
Teammate Eric Hazel, coming off the bench, rose up during the second half, finishing as Kingston’s high scorer with 13 points and 7 rebounds.
Jeff McQueen added 11 points and Jovan Coffey put in 10.
Other scorers for the tigers were Alonzo Knox (9 points) D.J. Mapes (6) and Rob Alonzo, (4).
