When the Woodstock Library held its first Library Fair back in the early years of the Great Depression, the idea behind the event was simple. Supporters of the town’s library — which has its 82nd outing 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, July 27, as part of the institution’s 100th anniversary celebration year — but was then only 18 years old, figured the town could use a nice late August country fair and raise a bit of funds in the process…the better to buy new books with.
