The masterminds behind the Rosendale Street Festival have put together a creative way to raise funds for the annual two-day summer affair. As with funding for arts or creativity in general, corporate sponsorship has gone the way of the eight-track; so these folks have decided to take matters into their own hands.

To that end, come one and all this Saturday, February 13 from noon until 10 p.m. to the Rosendale Recreation Center for "Winterfest." All sorts of bands, food vendors and artists will be on hand for a paltry ten bucks. Proceeds will go toward making sure that the Rosendale Street Festival (this July 24 and 25) will go on in the fashion it so deserves. Come enjoy the sounds of ten Hudson Valley-based bands including Voodelic, Joey Eppard, the Kingston High School Big Band, Ratboy Jr. and more.

Speaking on behalf of the Festival, Street Festival chairman and bassist Charlie Kniceley explained, "The success of the Festival is really a result of the great support we get from the community. The corporate sponsorships have disappeared, but the people who come to these fundraisers directly impact our ability to continue donating funds to local music education."
