THE TOWN OF SAUGERTIES ANIMAL SHELTER is located at the Transfer Station on Rt. 212 between Shultis Corner (Glasco Turnpike & Zena Road.) We have a shelter for dogs & mostly cats. The majority of cats are 4-months old & older. They are tested for leukemia/aids; spayed or neutered, vaccinated for distemper & rabies. There is an adoption fee which covers the vet expenses. The same criteria for Dogs except heart-worm/lyme test & adoption fee which includes the license fee. Also, pets are wormed if needed & defleaed. We only adopt out good tempered animals.
