Bass player Chris Wood is a member of the jazz group Medeski, Martin & Wood and the Wood Bros., an American roots music duo. He grew up in Colorado and went to the New England Conservatory of Music, where he met keyboardist John Medeski. The two, together with drummer Bill Martin, formed one of the most influential and original jazz groups of the last 20 years. Ten years ago, Wood moved to Saugerties, which he saw then as an authentic community close to the mountains and the Interstate - important factors for a traveling musician who loves nature.
