Woodstock supervisor Jeremy Wilber on October 4 unveiled a tentative 2014 town budget that, according to his calculations, would raise taxes by 1.00 percent for the general fund and by 2.76 percent for the highway fund, yielding an increase of 1.55 percent for the two funds combined. When taxation for the town’s so-called special districts is included, the tax hike drops to 1.39 percent. As proposed, the budget complies with the statewide cap on tax increases.
