“We have a phenomenal facility with a great history,” said David Robertson, a member of the Woodstock Christian Science church, located in the building that was once the summer school of the Art Students League. With a north-facing wall of windows and a simple but elegant vault, the sanctuary is said to have excellent acoustics, and the light is sublime. “Like most churches, it’s very underused,” Robertson observed. “The congregation feels it’s a community asset and should be utilized by the community. It’s a peaceful space that shouldn’t challenge anyone’s religious beliefs.”
