Joseph R. Feniello

Joseph R. Feniello, 68, of New Paltz, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010.

He was born on Nov. 9, 1941 in Dunkirk. He was the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Scanio) Feniello. He married Starr Ann Kundla on Sept. 8, 1973 at Holy Trinity Church, Dunkirk.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Starr Ann (Kundla) Feniello; he is also survived by a son, Jason D. Feniello of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Ralph (Mary) Feniello of Baytown, TX and Gerard (Judith) Feniello of Fredonia; along with two sisters, Clara (Eugene) Czysz of Dunkirk and Casimine (Anthony) Ricotta of Cheektowaga; and several nieces and nephews.

Joe was an avid sports lover and golf enthusiast. Before his retirement, Joe was the director of New York State Secure Regional Detention Center in Highland for many years. He will be greatly missed.

Gladys Place DuBois

Gladys Place DuBois, age 94, of New Paltz died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Dec. 22, 1915 in Brooklyn. She was the daughter of the late Charles and the late Alida (Seidel) Place. She married William S. DuBois. He died on Oct. 23, 2002 at the age of 88.

She was a member of the Reformed Church of New Paltz, a member of New Paltz Rescue Squad, New Paltz Study Club, New Paltz Gardiner Senior Citizens, The Woman’s Guild and the Huguenot Historical Society.

She was an active swimmer and a cross country skier. Her family and home were very important to her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was retired from the Poughkeepsie City School System, Poughkeepsie.

She is survived by one daughter, Diane DuBois-Gleichenhaus of New Paltz; granddaughter, Lisa and her husband BJ Wilson of New Paltz; granddaughter, Lauren Rooney and her husband Dean Winslow of New Paltz; grandson, Keith Gleichenhaus of New Paltz; great grandsons, Alex Wilson and William Dylan Winslow of New Paltz.
